Protecting Your Network and Your Data:  The Do's and Don'ts of Penetration Testing

You know how important your computer network and the data it contains are to your business.  You think everything is secure and safe from intrusion by unwanted or unauthorized third parties, or misuse by disgruntled insiders.  But how can you be sure that your safeguards are functioning effectively to protect your systems and data?  How well do your organization's detection and response capabilities react to malicious attacks?

The answer is called Penetration Testing, and we're delighted to have Mike Ortlieb, tell us about what is commonly called pen-testing.  Who should pen-test and why is it necessary?  What are the methodologies and steps that make up a pen-test?  What are the benefits and pitfalls of pen-testing?  Mike will share his wealth of experience regarding the do's and don'ts of pen-testing in an interactive presentation peppered with "war stories" the audience will enjoy.
