IIA Canada established the Lifetime Achievement award in 2009 to recognize individual members who, through a lifetime of accomplishments and dedication to the profession and to the Institute, have impacted the Canadian practice of internal auditing, advanced the awareness of the profession and the IIA in Canada, and inspired professionals in Canada and around the world to make a difference in our profession and in the organizations we serve.

The award is open to members of the IIA in Canada who have shown extraordinary leadership and dedication through many years of service to the global profession and to the IIA in Canada.  Members must be well known and well respected in Canada and where applicable, globally, and must have had a major impact on the development or the furthering of the profession in Canada.  While not required, members may have already received other prestigious awards from IIA Canada, such as the Contribution to the Profession of Internal Auditing award or the Arthur Child Distinguished Service in Canada award.

This award will only be presented each year upon receipt of suitable nominations and the number of awards to be made in a single year is at the discretion of the Nominating Committee.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is August 1, 2019.
