How to Mitigate Cloud Threat Risks with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)

Cloud access security brokers have become an essential element of any cloud security strategy, helping organizations govern the use of cloud and protect sensitive data.
  • Introduction of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud services model.
Gartner Forecast
By 2022, 60% of large enterprises will use a CASB to govern some cloud services, up from less than 20% today.
Through 2023, at least 99% of cloud security failures will be the customer’s fault.

CASB provides a central location for policy and governance concurrently across multiple cloud services for users and devices with granular visibility into and control over user activities and sensitive data.
  • CASB delivers functionality through four pillars:
  1. Visibility
  2. Data Security
  3. Threat Prevention
  4. Compliance
  •  How CASB can empower internal auditors to offer cloud security posture auditing capabilities to assess and reduce configuration risk in cloud services.
Conclusion: Cloud access security broker (CASB) is a must-to-have product and service that address security gaps in an organization’s use of cloud services.
