President’s Message

Dear Orange County Chapter Members,

This month we had Jeff Sanchez, Managing Director from Protiviti Inc. present on “Best Practices for Auditing PCI Compliance”.  For those of you who were unable to attend, we have uploaded a PDF version of the presentation to our website under “Event Presentation”.

Next month we look forward to hearing from Jen Terry of Wolters Kluwer present on, “Auditing Social Media”.  This lunch event will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at the Equinox in Irvine. Please refer to the registration link below.

If you have not already registered for the IIA’s Western Regional Conference in Anaheim, please be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to hear from a selection of world class speakers!  Members can get up to 18 CPEs for just $895.  Pre-Conference Workshops start at just $250 for up to 4 CPEs!  The event is scheduled for June 6th – 9th and the registration link can be found below.

I cannot believe that it is already April and our Chapter year is almost at an end.  We have started planning for the 2017/2018 year and if you were present at our last lunch meeting, you would have seen our slate of Officers be elected into their new roles.  For anyone interested in getting involved with the OC Chapter of the IIA, please take a look at the list of committees and roles offered on the last page of this newsletter and let the incoming president, Rachel Snell, know that you would like to help.  Rachel can be contact at rsnell@mail.cccd.edu.

Lastly, I would like to recognize and thank EY, Kia, Protiviti and Focal Point Data Risk, who continue to provide support to the Chapter as sponsors for the 2016/17 year.  If you or your company are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Rachel Snell.

We look forward to seeing you at the May 23rd lunch meeting.
Best regards,
Jonathan Jayasinghe
President, IIA Orange County Chapter
