Speaker: Douglas Mang, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems Director – Omaha Field Office
Doug Mang joined Boeing in March, 2005. As the Director of the Omaha Field Office and the Senior Executive for the Omaha Region he is responsible for coordinating field office support of all Boeing business units interacting with Strategic Command and other Offutt AFB assigned units.
Prior to joining Boeing, Mr. Mang worked for several companies in the Washington DC area including Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Bombardier.
Just before beginning his career with private industry, Mr. Mang was a Senior Military Fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, Washington DC. This position was the culmination of a 26-year career with the Air Force that included diverse management and command assignments, as well as over 3600 flying hours as a pilot and instructor pilot in five different operational aircraft. These assignments included two combat tours in Southeast Asia flying UC-123s and B-52s; staff assignments at Strategic Air Command Headquarters, Air Force Headquarters in the Pentagon, Air Force Legislative Liaison, and as a division chief in the Joint Staff; and command assignments that included command of the largest B-52 squadron at the time and wing commander of one of only 4 B-1B wings in the USAF.
Mr. Mang graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management, and in 1980 he earned a Master of Arts degree in Business from the University of Nebraska. He is also a graduate of a number of professional military schools including the National War College in Washington DC.
Mr. Mang and his wife, Robbie, reside in Omaha, Nebraska.
