Audit in Tune: Stories of Innovation from the Live Music Capital of the World

Do you have a great story to share related to innovations you have implemented or lessons you have learned which have yielded positive results for your internal audit function and/or your organization?

We are seeking internal audit practitioners to come share their stories of innovation at an IIA Austin Chapter all-day training event scheduled for April 14, 2020.  We’d like to hear from several practitioners that day – we are thinking a 50 minute slot each.  (If you are thinking you would need more time, give me your pitch!)

The theme for the day is the IIA Global Board Chairman’s theme of “Audit in Tune”.  We are seeking stories that might exemplify ways to “fine-tune” the audit approach or philosophy, or provide “harmony” through an influential role in the organization’s success, or maybe establish a “brand new beat” for the internal audit function’s vision and direction.  Feel free to think of creative ways to riff off our theme!

The Austin-area internal audit community is a vibrant and talented group of internal audit practitioners, full of innovation, progress, and commitment to continuous improvement.  Please think about a story you might be able to share – we’d love to hear it!  Private sector, public sector, industry-specific – we can all learn from one another in the spirit of the official motto of the IIA, “Progress through sharing”.

Please reply to Catherine.Melvin@dps.texas.gov for more information and/or if we can count you in!
