The IIA has revised the deadlines for reporting CPE. All certified individuals must report on Dec 31, 2012.
If a Certified Individual is scheduled to report CPEs by May 31, 2012 for the reporting period of 2010-2011 they will no longer have to report by this deadline. The new deadline will be to report by December 31, 2012 and at that time they will be required to report 2010, 2011 and 2012 CPEs. It was decided that it will be a collective total for the 2012 reporting period so you will be allowed to earn the total 120 CPEs within all three years. This new 120 hour requirement pertains to certificants with an EVEN ID number.
Certificants with an ODD ID number, will need to report 80 hours of CPE (earned in 2011 & 2012) on December 31, 2012.
For the CIA, practicing individuals are required to complete 40 CPE hours annually. Non-practicing and retired individuals are required to complete 20 hours and 0 hours, respectively.
For the CCSA, CFSA, CGAP, and CRMA, practicing individuals are required to complete 20 CPE hours annually. Non-practicing and retired individuals are required to complete 10 hours and 0 hours, respectively. In addition, 25 percent of CPE hours must be earned in the specialty area of expertise.
The 2012 CPE Reporting form will not be available until at least the 2nd quarter of this year.
