ABOUT THE TOPIC:
What is Big Data and where does it fit into my risk landscape? Although Big Data has been around for many years, the convergence of low cost technology, large datasets, and the demand for more accurate, timely, and actionable information has created the tidal wave of new approaches to data analysis. With the evolving technology, business demands, and the storage of so much data, comes the question of at what cost and at what risk?

In this session, participants will:
·         Explore the history of Big Data.
·         Walk through case studies of successful Big Data projects.
·         Review the technology behind Big Data.
·         Learn when and how the internal audit function should be involved in Big Data in terms of governance and privacy.
 
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Anthony has over 20 years of experience, including 12 years in ‘Big Five’ public accounting. His career combines external audit, litigation consulting, and information technology to provide a broad and comprehensive view of the risk management landscape. Anthony delivers results through an inclusive approach to creatively maximize business risk management while optimizing strategic business objectives. He graduated

Anthony assists Boards and Senior Management in assessing, designing, and implementing risk management functions and event related risk management activities. He assists clients in meeting their internal audit needs in both a co-source and full-outsourced model. Anthony works closely with Protiviti’s Litigation, Restructuring, and Investigative Services (“LRIS”) team and leads the Southeast’s Fraud Risk Management team. He combines his technology and business process experience to assist clients successfully implement meaningful and actionable tools to monitor and mine large volumes of business data.
 
Anthony graduated from the University of Georgia and holds the following certifications: CPA, CFF, CISA, CIA, and CRMA.
