This high-level course is geared towards teaching internal
auditors the value of data analytics: when to use data analytics; how to
implement data analytics; and how to get the most out of data analytics results. This class will give participants the
opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration using ACL. It will
discuss the challenges and opportunities that are presented in our increasingly
digital world. It will display various applications
of data analytics in an effort to showcase how data analytics can be utilized
in diverse environments.

Todd E. Richards, CPA, CFSA
Todd Richards is a partner with Crowe Horwath LLP in the Risk
Consulting practice and leads our data analysis group. He has 25+ years
of consulting experience in risk management including corporate governance,
enterprise risk management (ERM), internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, information
technology, data analytics and regulatory compliance.
Todd previously was the Chief Audit Executive and Regulatory
Compliance Director for a public company.
He is a frequent speaker on risk management and has
published several articles. He was awarded The Institute of Internal
Auditors’ Outstanding Contributor Award for his article entitled “Rising to the
Challenge”. Todd has his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago and B.S.
from Northern Illinois University.
Joe Palmisano is a second year staff with Crowe Horwath LLP
in the Risk Consulting practice. He is responsible for risk assessments and
internal audit projects. He has worked on a wide variety of clients including
financial institutions, manufacturing, real estate trusts, and insurance. He has worked on various client engagements
that include outsourcing of internal audit functions, project-based engagements,
and ACL analytics. He has worked with
clients to deliver consulting, training, education and other engagement
services related to internal audit. Joe
has his M.A.S. and B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
