WOMEN'S INITIATIVE FORUM SUMMER NETWORKING EVENT
How do we strive for success in a world where money and power are often the only measurements of success? Those same metrics can be detrimental to the things we deem important. Is there room for giving back, for health and for happiness? The Women's Initiative Forum of the IIA has been discussing the various meanings of success for years...and now our dialogue will include the full picture - the spirit, mind and body. As global discussion of the meaning of success expands, we will explore where it stands in the eyes of women today. Why the focus on women? The two key pillars of success - money and power - were defined by men, and it is up to women to lead the charge in changing that... to everyone's benefit.
Suzanne Griffith, Chief Innovation and Collaboration Officer for the YWCA will brief us and bring us up-to-date with discussions of The Third Metric - Huffington Post's. The discussion will include how we can define it for each of us individually and how to achieve our own individual and fulfilling successful life. With the defining of success the game-plan needs to be created. How do you plan to achieve what is deemed successful? What are the key indicators for getting ahead...is it luck, knowing someone, education? It is all these plus a little pieces known as strategy. Strategy allows us to plan, to build and become excited about the direction, path and overall happiness within our lives and the lives of those around us.
Michelle Moreno, Managing Director of Dresner Partners will be leading a discussion on strategy both in our personal and professional lives. Michelle will talk about the different steps she has taken to strategically drive her and to steer a successful business - steps which may be of benefit for reaching our own personal goals for success.
Immediately following our talk, we will host a wine reception. This networking reception will allow for a continuance of our discussions as well as enjoy a glass of wine, and each others company.
I hope you can join us, we look forward to seeing you on August 19th. If you have any questions or need additional details, please contact Cathlynn Nigh at firstname.lastname@example.org
