Overview:
Women and men auditors and professionals are invited to attend this leadership conference specifically designed to help auditors succeed and advance in their careers.  Six senior women executives will share their successes and lessons learned as they "climbed to the top" of their careers.  Speakers will present on six different topics related to personal and professional growth, leadership and management, report writing and communication, and building technical skills.  Don't miss this unique opportunity - space is limited to 125 attendees!

Djoura Abbas, Director of Internal Audit, Public Works and Government Services Canada:  "Facing Adversity:  What Happens When It All Goes Wrong?"
Djoura Abbas was kidnapped as a teenager and forced into a marriage with a man she did not know.  Hear her story and learn how she turned her adversity into success – in her role as a mother and in her career!
You will learn:  (1) How to stay focused on your objective in the worst of times; and (2) How to create a toolbox to set and achieve goals.
 
Cindi Hook, Chief Audit Executive, Comcast:  Leading an Internal Audit Dream Team”
Cindi Hook oversees internal audit staff dispersed across numerous locations with a variety of responsibilities.  She will help you learn to (1) Lead high-performing teams; and (2) Transform your IA team to achieve high potential.
 
Shalene Jacobson, Director of Risk Advisory Services, McGladrey:  2014: Your Year to Become a Better Writer”
Shalene Jacobson believes that words matter.  She will help you understand how your words (what you say) and style (how you say it) are your most cherished assets.  You will learn how to:  (1) Anticipate readers’ questions; (2) Effectively communicate findings; and (3) Identify what Audit Committees are looking for from your reports.
 
Liz Meyers, President, FocusOnRisk:  Leadership for Women in a Man’s World”
Liz Meyers knows first hand that women leaders face unique challenges, particularly when working in a male-dominated industry or organization.  Liz shares her own insights, as well as insights from other successful women leaders, on how to conquer these challenges when moving up in your career.  You will learn:  (1) Life is not fair: accept it and move forward; (2) How women can stop being their own worst enemy; (3) You will need help from others; and (4) Showing confidence is critical.
Jane Okun-Bomba, Senior Vice President, Chief Sustainability, Investor Relations, and Communications Officer at IHS: “The Role of Corporate Sustainability in Long Term Profitable Growth
Jane Okun-Bomba began her career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse Coopers.  Learn how she used her background to develop a career in investor relations and to help launch the Corporate Sustainability Function at IHS.
 
Dianne Ray, Colorado State Auditor, Office of the State Auditor:  “Making a Difference”   
Dianne Ray has over 20 years experience as a public sector executive and has been recognized for her innovative leadership style.  Dianne shares her tips on how to “make a difference” through audits, through relationships with co-workers, and through career choices.
