Please join us October 30, 2014 at Rothchild for our popular annual Ethics training with Dr. Perry Moore.
Dr. Perry Moore is Professor of Accounting, Director of the Master of Accountancy program, and Assistant Director of Graduate Business Programs at Lipscomb University in Nashville.  He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and is Certified in Risk Management Assurance.  A Nashville native, Perry graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in accounting and then completed his graduate studies at the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia.  Perry chairs the Regional Conference Committee for the Institute of Internal Auditors.  He is a pastPresident of their Nashville Chapter.  Perry is PresidentElect of Delta Mu Delta, an international honor society for business majors. For the Tennessee Society of CPA’s, he serves as a member of their Professional Ethics and Accounting Education and Career Awareness Committees. Perry also directs their “Accounting Academy”, a program designed to attract high school students to accounting careers.  Perry provides training for CPAs across the state of Tennessee on Professional Ethics.  He consults with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) on CPE related issues and serves as a member of their CPE Task Force.  He has received teaching awards from the Tennessee Society of CPAs, Lipscomb University, and the University of Georgia.
Course Topic and Description:
Tennessee State Specific Ethics
Enron, WorldCom, HealthSouth, and Bernie Madoff all describe an environment where the accountants
knew the right thing to do yet failed to do it.  As a result, there is an increased focus today
on personal and professional ethics and doing business the right way.  This training will provide
an update on a CPA's ethical responsibilities and Tennessee's state specific ethics rules.
This presentation meets the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy’s requirements for state specific
ethics training.
Learning Objectives
1.      Define professional ethics
2.     Review Tennessee’s state specific ethical rules and regula􀆟ons, taught through the AICPA’s
Code of Professional Conduct
3.     Read and respond to several ethical cases used throughout the presentation. Such cases
reinforce, highlight, and provide for additional discussion on important topics.
