About the Speaker
Kenneth Newman joined Central Pacific Bank in February 2009. He oversees the bank’s information security program and the protection of its information assets.
Prior to joining CPB, Mr. Newman served as First Vice President & Online Risk Manager for Washington Mutual (JPMC) and has worked in various security and risk functions for Deutsche Bank and Citigroup, as well as other Hawaii financial institutions.
With a Master of Science in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, Newman has 20 years of progressive experience in technology, security, risk, fraud, and privacy and a proven track record delivering risk-based solutions in financial services.
He is certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Project Management Professional (PMP), as well as being ITIL IT Service Management Foundations certified. Also a frequent trainer and speaker, Mr. Newman has presented at local, national, and international events and conferences including ISACA, RSA, MISTI, ABA, Ziff Davis, ComputerWorld, PMI, and ISSA."
