OCTOBER MEETING NOTICE
Thursday, October 24th, 2013
1 CPE

Topic:                      " Doing What’s Right As An Auditor”
Iowa’s county auditors are elected by voters, evaluated by the voters every four years, and rarely fired.  But that doesn’t mean their jobs are without stress, controversy, or challenges.  Listen to the experiences of Auditor Joel Miller as he
explains his attempts to internally audit county government.  Miller’s presentation may provide answers to questions you have regarding local news stories.  It may cause you to appreciate your work even more.  You may feel compelled to
offer some suggestions to Miller.  You may decide to run for Auditor in 2016.  In any case, Miller will provide a perspective on courage and doing what’s right as an auditor ... even when he knows it’s going to end up in the news.
