JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the guidance of the Senior Auditors and Staff Managers, Staff Auditors are expected to assist in completing assigned audit program steps and in planning audit engagements. Responsibilities also include assisting in identifying findings and creating recommendations that deliver value with cost effective, root cause remediation, and assisting in the development of draft audit reports that are concise, timely, and fact based.  Additionally, Staff Auditors prepare audit recommendations to present to management and perform special projects as assigned or requested.  .

 

SALARY:

Competitive salary of up to $60k per annum, depending on qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related subject.  CPA licensure, CIA certification, or willingness to work toward a relevant certification preferred.  Candidates must have a basic knowledge of financial accounting and auditing.  Experience in governmental accounting and auditing preferred.

Ideal candidate must possess:

·       Analytical and problem solving skills

·       Proficiency in MS Office or equivalent software

·       Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills

·       Ability to analyze results and present recommendations to management

·       Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assigned projects in a timely manner

 

Must be able to travel as needed throughout Harris County.

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship. 

Physical requirements for the position are the ability to sit for extended periods of time and the ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs., lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
