Taking Control of Spreadsheet Risks
Spreadsheets will always have a role in meeting the analytical needs of the companies they serve – there is simply no way around it. Spreadsheets offer an ease of use and flexibility that no other business application has been able to replace. However, it is common knowledge that spreadsheets are highly prone to errors. Does that mean companies should eliminate spreadsheet use for these purposes? Absolutely not. Employees should be empowered to choose the right tools for the job, but should also be given every opportunity to be successful with those tools. Learn how to identify and avoid the most common errors in spreadsheets, whether they are in the spreadsheets you receive from others or in your own, to:
• Improve the quality of spreadsheets
• Reduce the time spent finding errors
• Implement effective internal controls
