Join us on the next official student intern conference call for the IIA-LA Chapter. We will discuss  "take-aways" from previous conference or training meetings, enlighten students with a "Real Life Recap" from the internal audit world and share upcoming chapter volunteer needs and paid intern opportunities from our partners.

Our goal is to engage with students throughout the year providing the ultimate networking opportunities.

The students ranged from sophomore to senior level accounting majors who were eager to learn and appreciative of the discussion on the internal audit field.  The academic relations team presented the group with an "Internal Audit 101" presentation which touched on differences between internal and external auditors, planning, risk assessments and internal controls.  For information please contact vp-academic-relations@theiia-la.org.

Student Membership

The IIA-LA chapter highly recommends that students obtain membership with the IIA. Just a few of the benefits of membership are:

  • Access to employers and companies through volunteering or attending monthly luncheons;
  • Participation in the Internship Exchange Program where the IIA Los Angeles Chapter teams with local employers looking for student interns;
  • Discounts toward the Certified Internal Auditor (“CIA”) application fee, examination fee, and review classes and materials; and
    • In addition, student fees for the CIA examination application is only $30 (regular fee $85) and each part is only $85 (regular fee $130).
