 Assessing and Mitigating Risk in Azure & Office 365 - A Beginner's Guide

This presentation is intended for anyone who has an interest in Cloud Security, with a focus on Azure & Office 365.  In this presentation, Corey will discuss the most common risks and issues that he observes as an assessor of Office 365 environments.  Corey will discuss how you can assess your risk, and what you can do to mitigate risk in the Cloud.  Topics include Licensing, Default Configuration Settings, Microsoft Security Score, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), and industry best practices for managing risk in the cloud.

Corey Shell has 15 years of combined information technology and cybersecurity experience.  He has a passion for cybersecurity and helping his clients to idenfity their risks and determine their cybersecurity preparedness.  Corey specializes in ethical hacking, vulnerability management, cloud security, and information security program development, implementation, and assessment.  Corey has extensive experience in healthcare, financial services, education, public sector, and biotech industries.

To be or not to be Ethical - Why are some faced with this Question? 

Many face ethical dilemmas throughout their career and can find themselves intentionally or unintentionally not doing the right thing. No matter your role within your organization, you should develop the tools and skills necessary to become an effective, ethical leader. In this course, we will explore resources to do just that and look at factors affecting many in their daily ethical decision making.

 

Jaclyn T. Badeau, CPA, CGMA, MBA, EQ Certified - Jaclyn is the President of Badeau Consulting, with a vision to Motivate, Inspire, Lead, and EmpowerTM others by providing emotional intelligence (EQ) based coaching, speaking engagements, leadership course facilitation, and consulting in the learning and development space. Prior to launching her own company, she spent over 6 years in public accounting leading the firm’s audit training, career counseling various staff, and assisting clients with business enhancement projects across 5 industries. Jaclyn also worked at a global public manufacturing and retail company for over 8 years in 4 different roles including Controllership and Internal Audit leading various talent management strategic initiatives, providing coaching and mentoring to over 25 people, and serving as a business risk advisor to many.

Jaclyn is passionate about sharing her expertise and knowledge within and outside of the CPA profession and has been involved in many associations and not-for-profits in advisory and leadership positions. She’s received a KyCPA 2020 Outstanding Leadership and Service to the Profession Award, 2 awards of excellence from the KyCPA for receiving the highest grade on the FAR and AUD sections of the CPA exam during that exam period, and the 2016 Distinguished Alumni honor from EKU.

SSRA T.J. Hanna

SSRA Hanna is currently assigned as the Supervisory Special Agent for the FBI Lexington Resident Agency, Louisville Division where he serves as the FBI Public Corruption and Civil Rights Coordinator for the state of Kentucky. SSRA Hanna also serves a firearms instructor and tactical instructor for the FBI Louisville Division and as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for the FBI’s Training Division.

After graduating from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2000, SSRA Hanna joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. He joined the FBI in 2009 and was assigned to the FBI Philadelphia Division. He was transferred to the FBI Louisville Division in 2014 and in 2017 was promoted to a Supervisory Special Agent in the Public Corruption Unit at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC before returning to the FBI Lexington Resident Agency as the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent in August 2018.
