Benefits of Becoming Certified and Beyond

There are many benefits to becoming a CIA. Certified professionals have more job opportunities, gain more confi-dence and competence in their skills and job performance, and, according to The IIA, increase their earning po-tential up to 18% more than their non-certified peers.

Being driven to master a certification while balancing professional and personal responsibilities shows your com-mitment to your career. It will demonstrate to your supervisors the determination that you possess-- not to men-tion the new skills you attain and refine-- to advance your current position and status. Your hard work and effort will not go unnoticed by your employer and colleagues.

Becoming a CIA demonstrates that you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities that an internal audit professional uses on the job today.

Meeting your continuing education requirements each year demonstrates your commitment to the profession and your continuing professional development.

Once certified, take the time to encourage and mentor other chapter members, colleagues, or even students who are potential CIA candidates.

It is a rewarding experience to see others achieve success.
