July 22, 2014

It is with great pleasure I address you as elected President for our Chapter year 2014-2015.  Our Chapter has grown and bonded in such a short period of time as a result of its amazing leaders. I would like to thank former President, Julia Haan, and all of the former Leadership team members for their hard work and dedication to servicing the local internal audit community for the past few years.   I am confident this year is going to be another one for the record books as we continue to grow.
We continue to support our members in their goals for certification in various areas.  We are fortunate to have a plethora of professionals in our chapter from all different walks of life.  Looking back on the 2013-2014 fiscal year, we accomplished a lot of great things. One key achievement was that our chapter was awarded Gold status by the IIA last year.   This award is based upon specific criteria that are measured under three categories: service to our members, service to our profession, and chapter administration; also, due to the quality and quantity of the events that we host for our region.  We will continue to achieve the same status this year.
Some other key initiatives we have planned for this year include:
·         Enhancing the Chapter’s use of technology by utilizing social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
·         Coordinating with local Universities to increase awareness of the internal audit profession to the student body.
·         Increasing our community service events to provide members with the opportunity to give back to the local community.
·         Increase chapter membership through networking in relevant chapter meetings and events.
Thank you for your continued support of the Middle Ga IIA Chapter!
