Recent Trends in Federal Prosecution of Financial Crimes in the Middle District of Alabama
Andrew O. Schiff graduated in 1982 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and in 1985 from the University of Michigan Law School. After graduation, he was an associate from 1985 through 1990 at Klehr Harrison, a Philadelphia law firm, where he worked on complex commercial litigation matters. In 1990 he joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey, where he served as civil health care fraud coordinator. He also argued appeals before the Third Circuit and the New Jersey Supreme Court. In 1995, he transferred to the criminal division, where he handled mostly complex fraud cases. In 2002, he rejoined Klehr Harrison as of counsel and later partner. Since November 2004, he became an AUSA in the Middle District of Alabama, and he has served in a number of positions, including Senior Litigation Counsel, Acting Criminal Chief, Deputy Chief—White Collar Crime, and currently, as First Assistant U.S. Attorney.
