Topic: What All Audit, Risk, and Compliance Professionals Need to Know about Emerging Technology Risks: Cloud Computing, Mobile Computing, Data Loss Prevention, eDiscovery and more
The pace of change with respect to information technology is dramatically changing the risk profile and the design of internal control systems for most organizations. The Audit Director's Roundtable Top 10 risks named Information Security as #1 among all business risks for 2012, with Third Party Vendor Management, Compliance, and Social Media also in the Top 10. (http://www3.cfo.com/article/2011/11/risk-management_risk-assessments-radar-screen-2012).
Despite the role that technology plays, these are business issues and not simply IT issues. All internal auditors need to understand these emerging technology risks and consider them in their risk assessment and audit planning. Through a mix of headline review and facilitated discussion, this class will review a number of emerging risks to be evaluated and tested by internal audit and compliance teams. Attendees will develop audit programs in class for these emerging technology risks that can be practically applied at their organization.
