Wes Withrow is the founder of R2 – Cybersecurity & Consulting, where he provides cybersecurity consulting and manages security services to a broad spectrum of industries, both large and small. With a diverse set of skills and expertise, his duties include, but are not limited to, security consulting, regulatory compliance, penetration testing, auditing, gap analysis, network security, and security program management.
Wes has been working in the IT industry for 15 years and has led and participated on a wide variety of projects. Having the technical aptitude to implement a solution is one ability, but combining that skill set with strong business experience has allowed Wes to enjoy work in an interesting set of problem spaces.
Prior to founding R2 – Cybersecurity & Consulting, Wes spent time in roles advising small to medium sized businesses in technology, advising the Department of Defense, and as a systems engineer implementing secure IT systems.
Wes graduated from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School with an M.S. in Information and Telecommunication Systems. He also obtained a B.S. in Computer Science from Davis and Elkins College.
He holds 13 certifications, most notably the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Additional certifications include HIPAA, Six Sigma, and handful of IT Management certifications. He also holds an active SECRET clearance.
