Randy Culpepper, a second year graduate student in accounting at UNO, and his team took first place in a team competition at the fourth annual International IAEP Leadership and Networking Conference last weekend in Orlando, Fla.
Culpepper was the only UNO representative on the team, which included members from LSU, Nanjing Audit University (China), North Illinois University, the University of Pretoria (South Africa), and the University of Texas at Dallas.
Ten teams comprised of students from the top internal auditing programs around the world competed in this year's challenge. Randy's team grabbed a win by sucessfully presenting a case on risk analysis for a high technology optical manufacturer.
This is the second consecutive year that a UNO representative has been on the first place team in this annual competition.
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) created the IAEP program for schools wanting a more formal affiliation with IIA. IAEP focuses on quality internal audit curriculum approved by the IIA and a partnernership among IIA, local IIA chapters/institutes, and participating colleges/universities.The invitation-only IAEP Leadership and Networking Conference is held annually in October. Educators and students from participating IAEP schools gather to network, compete and meet with practitioners who are donors of the IAAAF.
