The Capital Hotel, 208 Kenmount Rd, St. John's, NL |

A solid privacy program is a foundational element for successful organizations in today’s business environment. Privacy programs help organizations manage their information and IT assets and mitigate risks against the same. Yet, many organizations lack a comprehensive program, have never assessed their privacy program, or do not conduct robust audits of their programs on a regular basis.

Join your fellow NL IIA members on April 15, 2014 at the Capital Hotel for our latest PD session entitled "Find the Gap: Auditing Your Privacy Program". The presentation will discuss why privacy programs are critical in today’s business environment, highlight components of assessing a privacy program using the privacy maturity model, provide details of how to use this information to form the basis for regular privacy auditing, and finish with tips on how to get buy-in for your program. The potential risks and business impacts of a weak privacy program, along with the privacy legislative framework in Canada, will also be examined. The session will be led by Margaret Corcoran and Ruth Marks, both of whom are Privacy Officers for the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information.
