Location: Holiday Inn Baymeadows at 11083 Nurseryfields Drive, Jacksonville FL 32256

Time(s): 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Program description: All participants will earn 6 hours fraud investigation/auditing and 2 hours ethics CPE (the ethics CPE is good for CIA & CFE but not CPA)

With this session Toby plans to disrupt everything you thought you knew about fraud, including why it happens, who gets involved, and how to deter and detect fraud. Attendees will learn why our beliefs have been flawed, why some investigative practices are misguided, and how auditors and others unwittingly assist fraud schemes. The session will address behavioral profiling, psychological assessments and other commonly used industry tools. Real life events are interwoven with scientific research in this interactive talk to expose the myths and danger of working under assumptions in relation to this ever-growing threat.

Specific areas addressed in this training includes:

  • How we unwittingly assist in the production of misleading information;
  • The psychology of deception and self-deception;
  • Effective evidence screening;
  • Why we overlook obvious red flags;
  • How our intuition and assumptions can lead us astray; and
  • Improving judgment and skepticism related to various threats.

This training is designed to benefit all members of an organizations but will particularly benefit investigators, analysts, auditors, governance and security and compliance professionals, and those working in the IT, HR, legal, and medical professions as well as executives, policymakers and other decision makers interested in a deeper understanding of fraud and related threats.

Please note ACFE friends your rate is the same as IIA members - $180 member rates.  Hope to see you there!
