Developing a Strategic Internal Audit Plan
The expectations for Internal Audit continue to grow. Internal Auditors are being challenged to be more strategic in their approach to developing a long-term plan, relating to the focus, composition, and critical objectives of the Internal Audit function. This session will explore how internal audit functions are aligning their strategic plan to the overall strategic planning of their organization. Consideration will be given to the risk assessment and audit planning processes, as well as developing the competencies needed to support the overall mission of Internal Audit. Emphasis will be placed on using a SWOT approach to aid internal audit departments in assessing Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats as part of the process to prioritize developmental objectives.
