Pauline Blais will be instructing a 3 day course on becoming a successful auditor.  The course will provide a strong base of knowledge and an understanding of basic auditing skills that are essential.  With this program, new auditors, as well as non-auditors with internal control responsibilities, can learn the ins and outs of an audit from beginning to end.

CPE Hours: 24   

Participants will be given a CPE certificate at the end of the course that reflects the hours they earned from the course.  Please note that CPE hours will be adjusted accordingly if you miss time (e.g., come in late, leave early) in the course.

Knowledge Level: Basic

Purpose of the Workshop

The workshop is designed to give new internal auditors an overview of internal audit so that they can successfully participate as team members in an internal audit under the supervision of an experienced internal auditor.  Although the workshop describes a generic approach to internal audit, there is a definite focus on auditing as it pertains to the Government of Canada.

Who should attend?

The workshop is designed for new internal auditors with less than one year of experience or non-auditors who require knowledge of internal audit process.

Planning the internal auditing assurance engagement

Conducting the internal audit assurance engagement

Reporting on the results of the internal auditing assurance engagement

Audit engagement finalization and follow-up on management action plans
