In June of 2013 the Clerk of the Privy Council, Wayne Wouters, launched a vision for the Public Service entitled Blueprint 2020. This vision for a world-class Public Service equipped to serve Canada and Canadians now and into the future relies on 4 guiding principles. This session will examine opportunities for Internal Audit to assist in the achievement of this vision by answering the following questions: Is it appropriate for IA to assess initiatives against V20/20? If so, how far should it go? Should V20/20 concepts be built into audit criteria and reported upon?
This session will be led by Bill Kessels, CPA, CA, CIA, CMC, CISA. Bill leads EY's Government and Public Sector Risk practice for Canada, and is the account leader for the Government of Canada. He has over 25 years’ experience in external audit, internal audit and general management consulting and is an instructor for the IIA's CIA preparatory program. He is currently a governor of the CCAF and has a keen interest in emerging issues in Internal Audit.
