The IIA Ottawa Chapter is proud to present its 2013-14 Lunch and Learn series, The Experts. Each session will feature a different expert from a field outside of the auditing world who will share their perspective on matters of interest to auditors.
Building upon the October session, Mr. John Clayton will examine the threat and risk assessment (TRA) as an important source of audit evidence. Mr. Clayton will describe the TRA process and its applicability to most audits. He will also offer suggestions for auditors to evaluate the content of a TRA report and assign a level of assurance to the findings, all of which can support objective audits.
Mr. Clayton is currently a Senior Security Analyst with the Risk Management Consulting practice at Bell Canada, following 27 years in the Canadian Forces and another 17 years in the federal Public Service. During this time, he has performed such varied functions as a Senior Policy Analyst, Project Security Director, Departmental COMSEC Authority and Departmental Security Officer. In his last position he co-chaired the joint CSE-Royal Canadian Mounted Police working group that developed the Harmonized Threat and Risk Assessment Methodology.
