 IIA OTTAWA BORARD POSITION NOMINATIONS

 
This year, the Nominating Committee of the Ottawa Board of Governors is soliciting nominations for the following Board positions: Chair of Certifications, Chair of Memberships, Co-Chair of Programs, and Secretary. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else, please do so using the attached nomination form.

Chair of Certifications:
                     The Chair of Certifications will be responsible for sustaining the professionalism, value and credibility of internal audit by generating awareness and the expansion of the IIA Global Certification Program within the Ottawa Chapter. Specific responsibilities will include: promoting and encouraging our members to obtain IIA certifications, tracking members currently pursuing certifications and identifies/promotes ways to help them prepare and study for examinations and responding to and assisting members and certification candidates with questions or comments related to the certification process.
 
Chair of Memberships:
                     In an effort to retain and increase membership, the Chair of Memberships will provide support to our members while increasing awareness of the benefits of membership, and to encourage volunteers to assist the Chapter’s Committees with their activities.  We provide members and volunteers with after care services to address their needs, and obtain feedback to improve our services and ensure their continued support.  The Chair will ensure that IIA Ottawa Board members and regular member’s questions, comments are responded to as quickly as possible.
 
Co-Chair of Programs:
                     The Co-Chair of Programs is responsible for delivering an educational program that supports Chapter member development, training needs and continuous learning. The Co-Chair is called to identify and implement programs to serve the needs of the membership, prepare and monitor a budget for program events, prepare monthly financial reports with comparative budget figures in coordination with the Treasurer, serve as the main point of contact between the Chapter and other organizations (such as ISACA, ACFE) and providing training to their members, coordinate program activities with other key local training providers, and oversee communications to members of all Chapter programs events in collaboration with the Chair of Communications.
 
Secretary:
                     The Secretary is responsible to support the Board by attending all Board meetings and executive meetings, prepare and maintain all minutes of meetings of the chapter, maintain Chapter membership records, establish communication concerning member issues among all committees, act as the corresponding secretary for the Chapter, support committee chairs, and participate as a committee member, as appropriate. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring the overall effective management of the Chapter’s records.
