Topic: What Can Go Wrong?  Reduce Risk by Understanding the Characteristics of Internal Control.
Both auditors and quality professionals mostly likely have been affected by the current economic environment, since oftentimes internal controls have been compromised (for governments, not-for-profits and for-profits) that have resulted in the inability of an entity to prevent and detect the significant "what can go wrongs."

Speaker: Troy Manning, CPA has over twenty years of diverse audit, accounting and consulting experience and is recognized as a government and not-for-profit expert. As a former partner of one of the largest public accounting firms in the Southeast, Troy has been a featured speaker at numerous state conferences. She has authored articles on topics related to the public sector that have been published in various state CPA society magazines and in the AICPA Journal of Accountancy.

Troy is currently government and not-for-profit consultant on matters relating to GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls and implementation of new standards. She is also a consultant for Thomson Reuters which includes writing course material, reviewing professional manuals and teaching audit and accounting topics throughout the United States.
