Because your Palm Beach County IIA Board of Governors and Officers take your feedback very seriously and want to offer the types of programs and events that you are interested in, we would really appreciate your taking the time to answer a short chapter planning survey by clicking on the link below.

Please complete the survey no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday July 28, 2014 .  As an extra incentive, we are offering a FREE registration to any 2014-2015 Palm Beach County IIA Event (Social or CPE) to TWO random survey participants (excluding Board Members and Officers), so please be sure to include your contact information on the last survey question in order to be eligible for the drawing.

The IIA needs YOU to volunteer at the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Conference, being held at The Breakers Palm Beach from August 18-20, 2014:

Dear IIA Palm Beach Chapter Member,
The 2014 Governance, Risk, and Control Conference, an IIA and ISACA collaboration, will be held at The Breakers in Palm Beach on Aug. 18-20. To help make this event a success, we are looking for local IIA chapter members to serve as volunteers to help staff the conference. We need your help with a variety of positions, including being a wayfinder (offering directions), assisting at the registration desk, and ushering, and more.  
What will you receive when you help by volunteering?
·        IIA Continuing Professional Education Credits (CPEs).
·        NASBA CPE credits if you attend a session after your scheduled volunteer shift.
·        Meals will be provided if you are working during a time one takes place.
If you can help, please click here to sign up for available shifts by Wednesday, July 30. The IIA will provide additional details regarding position responsibilities, training, and report times as the event gets closer.

The Palm Beach County chapter is proud to be one of only 83 chapter to earn the designation of Chapter of Excellence for 2014, for our support of the CIA designation, specifically through the IIA's CIA Learning System program!

The IIA is launching the brand new Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL).  "The QIAL is a new, highly distinguished qualification for aspiring leaders, experienced Chief Audit Executives (CAEs), and those CAEs who are new to the Internal Audit function for their organization."

For your information:

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, has issued two Reports to Congress called for by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act: one on Breaches of Unsecured Protected Health Information, and the other on HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rule Compliance.  The reports cover relevant activities in calendar years 2011 and 2012.  These are the second reports developed by the Department and provided to Congress on the respective topics in response to the HITECH Act requirement.
