What you will learn:
This educational and entertaining training session will be co-presented by Jack Wiles and FBI Special Agent Tab Clardy. The session will be very interactive and will contain absolutely NO POWERPOINT presentations.
Jack Wiles presents – Low Tech Hacking - Here's How I Broke Into Their Buildings!
During this entertaining and educational hands-on session, Jack Wiles (AKA - Low Tech Jack) will share some of his Lessons-Learned and War-Stories regarding Physical Security and some things that you may want to include in your technical audits. He has 40+ years experience with a variety of locks, keys and bypass methods that you need to be aware of. For several years, he headed up an inside penetration team hired to attempt physical access into company buildings suspected of being victims of high-dollar high-tech intellectual property theft. Jack retired from that line of work UNDETECTED. He will discuss why they were hired, what they were hired to do, and how you can possibly help protect your company by adding a few additional audit categories to your audits.
After this session, you may also want to go home and look at a few things around your home as well!
Tab Clardy presents – Counterintelligence, Insider Threats, and Economic Espionage
This exciting presentation begins by defining ‘counterintelligence’ and a brief overview of the FBI. The presentation will keep you entertained, yet provide educational components with the use of true FBI case studies. Tab will discuss the “Insider Threat” as it relates to foreign intelligence services and their continued attempts at recruiting government employees to commit espionage. He will also present a true FBI case study by showing you the ‘Game of Pawns.’ This 28 minute movie highlights the recruitment of our American students by foreign intelligence services, plus it will raise your awareness if you are an international business traveler. Next up are the concepts of ‘Economic Espionage’ and ‘Theft of Trade Secrets’ which are emphasized in another true FBI case study from Kansas City called ‘The Company Man.’ This presentation will solidify these concepts, events, and outcomes and how they could be affecting your organization, in addition to delivering what you need to know and do to protect your organization.
Jack Wiles - As a Security Awareness trainer, Jack has presented to over 10,000 people since 1988. He has even provided security awareness training in the main briefing room at The Pentagon.
In addition to being a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association, Jack is a senior author for Syngress/Elsevier, the largest security related book publisher in the world. He is the lead author of all four of the books that he has written for Syngress/Elsevier, and a contributing author for a fifth book. His latest book, “Low Tech Hacking” has ranked high on the Amazon Best Sellers list several times since being published in January, 2012.
Jack is also a decorated veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam where he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for his actions in combat. He retired from the Army with 28 years of service, and spent his last 7 years in the U.S. Army Reserve (Lieutenant Colonel) assigned directly to The Pentagon.
Tab Clardy – As a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Tab is assigned to the Columbia Field Office where he specializes in national security investigations, specifically counterintelligence. Tab has served in Dothan, Alabama (Mobile Division), Houston, Texas and FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Prior to the FBI, Tab served as a police officer and detective with the Greenville Police Department. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to his investigative responsibilities, Tab is the FBI’s InfraGard Coordinator for South Carolina. He spends the majority of his time coordinating the dissemination of unclassified intelligence to SC InfraGard members who represent the majority of our nation’s critical infrastructures across our state. Tab also serves as the Counterintelligence Strategic Partnership Coordinator for our state. Unlike InfraGard, Tab narrows his focus in this capacity and concentrates liaison efforts among defense contractors, academia and the business alliance, specifically regarding the protection of classified information and sensitive proprietary information, aka “trade secrets”.
Tab has an Associate’s Degree in Public Service/Criminal Justice from Greenville Technical College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. Tab is happily married to his wife, Julie, of 20 years, and they have one son, Adam, who is a rising high school junior with plans to attend Clemson University.
