Many traditional information security controls are becoming less effective as a result of advances in malware used by fraudsters. Enterprises have many options to identify, prevent, and protect themselves from malware, but must make risk-based decisions that take limited resources into account. This presentation will explore these emerging risks, and the types of emerging controls that businesses can employ to protect themselves. The presentation will present these options in a risk-based format, exploring the many types of anti-malware controls available today.

Dave Dyk is the Vice President/Information Security Officer at Umpqua Bank, The World’s Greatest Bank. He leads the bank Information Security program, which includes information security governance, risk assessment, incident response, and security awareness. Dave has spent over 12 years in Information Technology, including 7 years focused on information security and auditing. Dave has an undergraduate degree from Washington State University, and a graduate degree from Portland State University. Dave’s current professional certifications include CISM, CISSP, and CISA. Prior to joining Umpqua, Dave served as an Information Security consultant and auditor, where he was a trusted advisor to a number of clients in the Portland area. Dave currently serves on the board for Willamette Valley chapter of ISACA, where he is responsible for chapter programs.
