From the time when the Privacy Rule went into effect in April 2003 until now, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has received more than 80,000 complaints concerning alleged HIPAA violations. How does OCR resolve these complaints, and what can you expect if OCR responds to a complaint stemming from your organization? The program presenter, Jared Goldman, will walk program participants through the lifecycle of a HIPAA complaint and provide practical suggestions for responding to government investigations.
