Topic: An Overview of Service Organization Control (SOC) Reports and How to Use Them for Increased Assurance over Outsourced Operations:
Organizations are increasingly outsourcing systems, business processes, and data processing to service providers in an effort to focus on core competencies, reduce costs, and more quickly deploy new application functionality.
This presentation will provide an overview of the three SOC reporting options (SOC1, SOC2, and SOC3), including their intended subject matter and scope, target audience, and applicability to different types of outsourced services. This foundational information will provide the basis for a discussion on the application of SOC reports and how organizations can use them to increase assurance over outsourced operations.
