The
CARES Act offers a lifeline to small businesses and sole proprietors in
the form of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) administered by the Small
Business Administration (SBA). This program has been dynamic in its
delivery to the market and as such, Lenders have been working overtime to
ensure they stand up the necessary processes & technology to ensure their

Spring Conference Postponed
Fellow
Chapter Members,
As you may know, the global
COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation is concerning. In light of the arrival of
COVID-19 in Utah and Gov. Herbert's declaration of a state of emergency, as
well as the recent announcement by the World Health Organization officially
deeming the outbreak a “pandemic”, I am sadly announcing that the IIA SLC
Chapter will not be holding in-person events for the remainder of the chapter
year (concluding May 31). Our Chapter’s Board of Governors made this difficult
decision in order to protect the health and welfare of our members and other
stakeholders as we attempt to decrease the likelihood of community spread.
This announcement obviously affects
our much-anticipated Spring Conference that was scheduled for March 27. We have
decided to POSTPONE the Spring Conference until Fall, in hopes that this
situation will improve with time. We will keep you updated regarding the
reschedule date and agenda details in the coming months. For those of you
who have registered, we are deeply sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate
your understanding. We will be providing a FULL refund to you within a week via
the same method original payment was made. We hope you will register for the
rescheduled event this Fall.
Chapter Leadership is currently
exploring the possibility of holding virtual training events in place of our
April and May monthly luncheons and the Spring CAE Forum. These online events
will be FREE and you will be hearing more about that in the coming weeks.
I want to acknowledge the time
and effort put in by our event committee volunteers this year. Specifically,
Brad Barlow, Alisha Jerauld, Maygen Richardson, Dan Clayton, Kent Parker, Tom
Green, and George Cannon. Thank you so much for your tireless work and
commitment.
Thank you all for supporting our
chapter. Stay safe and let us all continue to heed the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention’s guidance, including thoroughly washing and drying our
hands and staying home if we are sick (pandemic or not).
Regards,
Mike Camp
SLC Chapter President
The Institute of Internal Auditors
THANK YOU TO OUR GOLD LEVEL CONFERENCE SPONSORS!
