The Institute of Internal Auditors launched the ACGA in March 2014 to advance the professional practice of auditing in the public sector by delivering high-quality, low-cost professional development, networking opportunities, and thought leadership. Join Jim Pelletier, Director of ACGA as he provides an introduction into the program and shows public sector auditors the value within.
This interactive session will cover:
- The goals and objectives of the ACGA
- How the ACGA will benefit the profession
Jim came to the ACGA with more than 15 years of auditing experience in the public and private sectors. Jim served as city auditor for the City of Palo Alto, Calif., and was the chief of audits for the County of San Diego. His diverse auditing experience also includes roles at the California State University System, PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc., State Street Corporation, and General Electric.
An active volunteer for The IIA, Jim has served on the global Public Sector Committee and was the Government Relations Chair for The IIA's San Diego Chapter. In 2008, while serving as a senior audit manager for the County of San Diego, Jim won The IIA's prestigious John B. Thurston Award for outstanding paper in the field of internal auditing for his article "Adding Risk Back Into the Audit Process."
