Speaker and Topic Information (Learning Objectives)
The morning sessions will cover the topics of with Enterprise Risk Management, BYOD, and Data Management. The first session will include a talk by Michael H. Cox CIPP on enterprise risk management. He is the founder and president of SoCal Privacy Consultants, and the Chief Privacy Officer for Pathway Genomics Corporation. He has helped a variety of public and private organizations within several industries establish lean, sustainable, and legally defensible privacy and security programs. The second morning session will be led by Sumari Botha CISA, CISM. Ms. Botha has been with the KPMG IT Advisory and Risk Consulting practice for over 9 years and specializes in the areas of IT Audit and IT Security. She will speak on the benefits and risks associated with the adoption of BYOD policies. The final session will be discussing Social Media and will focus on the policies and procedures surrounding this form of communication that will help mitigate potential risks such as revealing proprietary information, defamation of a company brand, and other problems associated with social media interaction.
The lunch session will cover the topic of Cyber Security led by Jeff Sanchez, Managing Director at Protiviti. Mr. Sanchez is Protiviti’s West Region leader for Security and Privacy practice and global co-leader of Protiviti’s PCI practice.
The afternoon sessions will cover the emerging risks associated with Cloud Services, and Social Media. The first afternoon session on Cloud Services will include a discussion of the potential security concerns surrounding a cloud environment and the transition of data into a cloud environment. The
last afternoon session will cover the development of policies, practices,
and procedures associated with mitigating risks associated with the full
data lifecycle needs of an organization.
