Cynthia Coutsouros, CPA, received her BS in Accounting and Finance from Bucknell University and her MBA from New York University Stern Business School. She has been involved in accounting, auditing, and finance for over ten years. She was an external auditor with Price Waterhouse and held various positions in finance, corporate reporting, and auditing with Pepsi International. In 1997, Ms. Coutsouros joined PEF Associates as a trainer and consultant.

Executive Summary Strategies™ covers strategies for providing a conclusion (or opinion) based on the audit results. It focuses on developing a bottom-line message for busy senior executives. Using the “elevator pitch,” we discuss when and how to present positive information, negative information, or both. Participants receive worksheets that will help them determine how to focus the executive message: Can executives tolerate the risks being taken by the audited entity? What do executives need to know? What might they want to know? Do they need to be informed? To react? To act
