Social media has rapidly become part of business as usual for many organizations, strategically or not.  While there are obvious benefits to utilizing this technology, there are significant risks that need to be identified, managed and monitored.  This presentation will cover the following learning objectives:

  • Commonly identified social media venues and outlets
  • Social media risks and challenges related to the use of social media 
  • Business risk related with not having a social media program and policy and procedure

TaMiya Dickerson is a Senior Manager in Grant Thornton’s Los Angeles Business Advisory Services practice.  She primarily services clients in the Financial Services industry. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in accounting, business process and technology services.
TaMiya’s professional experience includes risk assessments, internal audits, attestation reports, and technology audits. Her financial services experience includes depository institutions, investment companies and, broker dealers. She has worked with large national banks, regional and community banks. Ms. Dickerson’s experience covers internal audit and advisory services for industries including healthcare, manufacturing and technology industry companies.
