An Imaginative Little Boy, an Abandoned Lot, and the Circus McGurkus. Under the umbrella of Dr. Seuss' classic book, If I Ran the Circus, participants will take a Seussical journey exploring business conduct and ethics.

If I Ran the Circus is about a boy – who upon seeing a littered-with-junk vacant lot starts envisioning the things he can do with such a huge space – a perfect place indeed for his very own circus! The moral of the story, ultimately, is that not everyone is suited to responsibility.

In the wake of corporate scandals and new regulations worldwide, today’s business leaders need to take business conduct and ethics to a new level of accountability and responsibility. This presentation discusses the human errors and excesses to which business professionals are prone and the controls that should be in place to appropriately prevent, detect, and respond. Topics covered include:

• Auditing conduct and ethics policies and procedures;
• Understanding the current ethical dilemmas facing business leaders and internal auditors;
• Discovering best practices on how to address conduct and ethics concerns; and
• Improving ethical standards in all business areas.
