5/22/2014 12:00 PM
5/22/2014 2:00 PM
The Albany Club - 91 King Street East; Toronto | Canada - Ontario
Session Overview

It is becoming increasingly common for businesses to outsource key processes that are critical for operation. Internal audit can assist in ensuring a smooth transition of the processes and minimizing risks to the business.

This session will present an approach for internal audit to add value to the outsourcing of a business process and provide management with an evaluation of the control environment both before and after the transfer. A case study approach will be used to describe the methodology for the audit or consulting arrangement. We will review the key aspects of an outsourcing arrangement:

  • An independent evaluation of the controls prior to transfer;
  • How to assist management with the identification of key controls and quality measurable indicators; and
  • The independent assessment after the transfer of the business process to the third party.

The approach will include both financial and operating controls.
