“Corporate Fraud Prevention, Detection And Investigation For Internal Auditors”

Session Overview

Paul Ross and Ray Porter of KPMG Forensic will be with us to discuss their experiences investigating corporate fraud.  Paul and Ray each have over 25 years of experience in fraud investigation, and have worked extensively with internal audit professionals during that time.  Their presentation will be interactive, and will cover common fraud schemes, the prevention, detection and response to fraud, and how a forensic investigation is conducted.

Speakers
Paul Ross has been designated as a specialist in Investigative and Forensic Accounting by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.  The investigations conducted by Paul have been completed on behalf of governments, law enforcement agencies, corporations, law firms, municipalities, charitable organizations, educational institutions, and individuals regarding fraud and misappropriations of assets.

Ray Porter spent 24 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as both a criminal fraud investigator and supervisor primarily in the RCMP Commercial Crime Section.  Since that time, he has been employed by national accounting firms investigating and supervising forensic engagements.

Ray has conducted and supervised forensic investigations on behalf of governments and the RCMP and Municipal police forces regarding a wide variety of fraud related matters including federally financed programs, acting as the investigative arm of public inquiries into suspect financial irregularities, violations of laws and regulations, misuse of government monies, national and international investor frauds, fraudulent bankruptcies, income tax frauds, breaches of trust, forgeries and counterfeiting.
