About the IIA
IEstablished in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association
with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global
voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally,
members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information
technology audit, education, and security.
About the Tulsa Chapter
The Tulsa Chapter of the IIA was the 18th recognized chapter making it among the most established chapters in the world. Since forming in June of 1942, the chapter has helped to build the Internal Audit profession in Tulsa by hosting seminars, workshops, community events, and providing scholarships to future auditors. The Tulsa IIA is a Platinum Status chapter and is known for its monthly newsletter “The Workpapers”.
Accomplishments:
- Winner of the Lawrence B. Sawyer Award, 2003
- Winner of the IMAP Award (International Marketing Affiliate Program), 2002
- Created the “Tom Fanning Memorial Scholarship, 1998
- Winner of the Southern Region Membership Trophy, 1987
