Certification News: The Professional Experience Recognition (PER) period for the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) has been extended to all North American Members until December 31, 2012!  In order to participate in this extended offer, you must be an active North American member and complete a CRMA application online through our candidate management system (CCMS) before December 31, 2012.  You will have until January 31, 2013 to complete your supporting documentation and submit it to the IIA! There is no test for this certification during this period, just an application and qualification statement.  Visit www.theiia.org and follow the menu to CRMA certifications link.  Spread the word, and take advantage of this great members only benefit today if you have not done so already!
 
Our first CAE Roundtable of the program year will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012.  The session will be moderated by John Farrell, senior partner at KPMG and Business Unit Partner in Charge of the NY Metro risk consulting practice.  This session is by invitation only and is a great opportunity for networking with your fellow CAEs.  Topics will include a presentation on “Branding Internal Audit” lead by chapter member, Andrew Cheskis, President of Cheskis Consulting. Chapter Achievement Program (CAP) The Westchester-Fairfield Chapter was awarded Bronze status for the 2011-2012 calendar year!  This year we’re “going for GOLD” and you can help make that happen!!  Just keep us informed of your professional activities that can earn the chapter CAP points such as obtaining new IIA certifications, submitting or publishing articles, speaking engagements on Internal Auditing, writing IIA exam questions.

The International Internal Audit Standards Board just released revisions to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.  The IIA is hosting two webcasts so that you may learn more about the Standards revisions.  The registration link is:  IIA Standards Webcast Registration
