Dr. Kris Martin graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in accounting in 1984. He worked for a few years in public accounting (Deloitte) and then returned to BJU to teach in 1986. From 1991-1995 he and his wife took a leave of absence from BJU to get advanced degrees. He finished his PhD at Virginia Tech, and his wife got a PhD from the University of Georgia in linguistics. Kris became the chair of the division of accounting at Bob JonesUniversity in 1998 and has served in that position since then. In addition Kris has recently worked for a consulting firm providing internal audit services, spending significant time at Carolina First (now TD Bank), Bi-Lo, and the Hampshire Group. For the past few summers Kris has been an adjunct faculty member in the Wake Forest Masters of Accountancy program.


Kris and his wife have three children, the youngest of whom is in high school. He coaches girls' soccer in his spare time.​
