Building Excitement!

For this year’s Annual General Meeting the phrase “Building Excitement” seemed to resonate as we reflect on the past years activities, and those ahead. How could we not be excited?  Below are just some of the items creating a stir locally, and for the IA profession:

  • Less than 6 months until Winnipeg plays host to the IIA Canadian Conference
  • New local chapter scholarship program and student initiatives in the works
  • Province of Manitoba proclamation of May as “International Internal Audit Month”
  • On the cusp of a new year with a new board and leadership group whom are sure to bring fresh thinking to Chapter leadership table
  • New SEC rules elevating the need and importance of Internal Auditors
  • Formation of IIA Canada as a separate institute continues to take shape

Please join us at the beautiful St. Boniface Golf Club for this year’s Annual Wind-up Luncheon and Annual General Meeting as we celebrate the many successes and accomplishments of this past year and learn more about some of the exciting initiatives already underway for 2013/2014.  This event is a great networking opportunity and an excellent way for you to get to know the people that represent you on the IIA Winnipeg Chapter Board.

For the formal AGM portion of the event, we will present the Nominating Committee’s report regarding the Board of Directors for the upcoming 2013/14 fiscal year, review the results of this past year’s business and finances, and transact other business as required. The election of next year’s Board of Directors will also take place along with recognition of IIA certifications received by members during the year.

In addition to the usual activities, this year’s event will also feature international award winning magician Evan Morgan.  Your powers of observation and reason will be tested as Evan will amaze you with innovative slight of hand trickery, and leave you questioning – “how did he do that?”

We look forward to seeing you at the event!  Details are as follows:

  • Registration: 11:30 am
  • AGM and lunch: 12:00 noon
  • Presentations: 1:00 - 1:45 pm

Cost for AGM & Lunch (including GST):    Members: $25 / Non-Members: $35

Please come out to meet your Board, celebrate our achievements, and learn more about how we position our profession for the future!
